Our History + Philosophy
Vicky Jorgensen is the founder of De’lish. Vicky returned from nearly a decade living in Denmark; where cooking at the Australian Embassy in Copenhagen as well as a range of Danish restaurants gave her a Scandinavian base & the opportunity to travel through Europe, visiting food stores, meeting cheesemakers & exploring food markets.
Vicky said “I have always loved food, my mother & grandmother are amazing cooks. Inspired after my time in Europe I came home with the idea of opening a food store that reflected those experiences & the connection I had made with regional food. I wanted it to be a vibrant store where we made the fresh food on site daily, filled freezers with slow cooked dishes & stocked the shelves with an amazing range of regional products.”
In 1996 she bought “Goldy’s”, a Lindfield gourmet chicken shop, renovating & renaming it in 1998 – De’lish was born!!
Vicky lives locally with her husband & two daughters.
